What we collect when you use this website, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
9 Elms Real Estate LLC is a brokerage licensed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, holding ORN 36882. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Our office address and licence details are in the footer of every page.
What we collect
Only what you type into a form. This site has no analytics, no advertising tags and no third-party tracking of any kind, so nothing is gathered about you as you browse.
When you send an enquiry
When you send an enquiry, request a valuation or ask for a unit list, we receive your name, and whichever of your email address and telephone number you choose to give. We also receive anything you write in the message, the page you sent it from, and — on the Sell form — the community and size of the property you are asking about.
The mortgage calculator
The mortgage calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into it is sent to us or stored, unless you then send an enquiry, in which case the price you modelled is included so we can be useful about it.
Cookies
The public site sets no cookies. Our staff sign in to a separate admin area which uses a session cookie, but that only applies to our own team and never to visitors. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Why we hold it
To reply to you, to prepare a valuation if you asked for one, and to carry out brokerage work you have asked us to do. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
We do not add enquirers to a mailing list. If we ever start sending market updates, it will be because you asked for them, and every message will let you stop.
Who else sees it
Our team, and the companies that run the systems we use: our website and database hosting, and our customer records system. They process information on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, for example to the Dubai Land Department or a regulator.
Where it is stored
Enquiries are stored on servers in Frankfurt, Germany, operated by our hosting provider. Information may therefore be transferred outside the United Arab Emirates. We use providers who commit to protecting it to the standard required by UAE law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a transaction are kept for two years, so we can pick up a conversation where it left off. Where we act on a transaction, records are kept for as long as UAE brokerage and anti-money-laundering rules require, which is currently five years from the end of the relationship.
Your rights
Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law you can ask us to do any of the following, and we will respond within one month.
- Tell you what we hold about you.
- Correct anything wrong.
- Delete it, where we are not required to keep it.
- Stop using it for a particular purpose.
- Provide it in a portable form.
- Withdraw consent, where our use of it rests on consent.
Email us using the address in the footer, with enough detail to identify your enquiry. There is no charge. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the UAE Data Office.
Keeping it safe
Enquiries are held in a database that only signed-in members of our team can read, with access recorded. Credentials for the systems we connect to are encrypted. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if something happens that affects you.
Changes to this notice
If we change what we collect or why, we will change this page and update the date at the top. Material changes will be brought to your attention rather than made quietly.
